Nusa Penida & Lembongan

CRYSTAL BAY

Best Time to Dive:
Crystal Bay dive site on the west side of Nusa Penida. June to October is the best season to see Mola (Ocean Sunfish).

What to See:
Crystal is the special site for Mola (Ocean Sunfish) sightings. The water is clear most of the time, that’s why it’s called Crystal Bay. The topography for this site is combination steep slope and drop off. 2 Ocean Sunfish cleaning stations is in this site. Other marine life you see here is reef sharks, turtles, abundance of fusilier schooling, barracudas, until macro/muck stuff.

Crystal Bay is suitable for experienced diver Advanced Open Water with 25+ dives.

TOYA PAKEH

Best Time to Dive
All year round, located at the west part of Nusa Penida.

What to See:
Steep slopes combine with drop, you can see healthy corals from hard to soft corals. Many fish sometimes Mola Sunfish hanging around in this site. Turtle most common to see and groupers, snappers, stingrays, and other. Typical of the current is long shore current.

MANGROVE

All year round, north part of Lembongan Island. Gentle slope from 5 to 18 meters. Surrounded by healthy corals, various fish. Drift dive, suitable for Open water to Advanced Open Water.

LEMBONGAN BAY

All year round, suitable for try scuba or Discover Scuba Diving. Flat sandy bottom full of healthy corals and many fish.

Manta Point

Best Time to Dive: All Year Round
Manta Point dive site on the southwest side of Nusa Penida. The manta cleaning stations that are located here.

What to See:
The dive site is a gently sloping reef with wall that has 2 cleaning stations where the mantas queue up to use the services of the cleaner bannerfish and butterflyfish living there. Divers can hover slightly away and below the cleaning station (8-10 meter deep) watching as the mantas come again and again and again! Reef Manta Rays are the main draw to this dive site is also a lot of fishy action going on here. Sometimes you can see other fish include nurse sharks, white tip/black tip reef sharks, bamboo sharks, wobbegong sharks, turtles and Also Mola (Ocean Sunfish) if it’s on their season. Another unique about the manta point is Black Manta (Melanistic Manta) is hanging around here.

PED & SD POINT

Best Time to Dive
All year round. Located in Northwest of the island. It’s best site to do drifting/drift dive. SD is one the most beautiful and healthy corals in the Nusa Penida. Most animals hanging around in these sites are turtles, dogtooth tuna, sharks, giant barracuda, butterflyfish schooling.

BLUE CORNER

All year round, north part of the Lembongan.

What to see:
Bottom topography is drop off combined with steep slope. Mola (Ocean Sunfish) during the season, Marble Rays, Bull rays, Eagle Rays, Reef Sharks, Turtles, and other unexpected big marine animals.

Advanced Open Water with 25+ dives

Padang Bai & Candidasa

Bias Tugel

Steep Slope with nice corals, perfect for Macro/Muck dive, also good for deep adventure dive. 5 minutes from the shore by wooden boat (Jukung).

Jepun Wreck

Gently slope with sandy bottom filled with Barracuda schooling, various type of reef fish, and turtles. This site also got a small shipwreck, good if you’re interested for wreck adventure diving.

Gili Tepekong

It takes 20-25minutes boat ride from shore. Steep Slope combined with wall, and there’s small cave in this site. Reef sharks hanging around on the cleaning station. Suitable for Advanced Open Water with 25+ dives.

Blue Lagoon

It’s a lagoon with turquoise water. This gently slope combined with drop off is suitable for snorkeling and all entry level divers. We easily spot nice corals, reef fish and turtles, and macro stuff in this site.

Jetty Point

If you are Muck Dive fanatics Jetty point need to be in your list. From nudibranch, frogfish, mantis shrimp, etc, you can find them here.

Gili Biaha

It takes 25 minutes boat ride, Biaha is famous with sleeping shark inside the caves. Bottom topography in Biaha is small island with drop off. Suitable for Advanced Open Water with 25+ dives.

Turtle Neck

This drop off with gently slope site is just next to blue lagoon site. Rhinopias, octopus, cuttlefish, pegasus/seamoth, macro stuff sometimes grey reef shark you can find it here. Turtle neck is suitable for Open Water until Advanced Open Water.

Gili Mimpang

to go here you need to take 20-ish minutes boat ride. Steep slope combined with drop off, sometimes Mola Ocean Sunfish spot in this site during it’s season, shark is the highlight of this site. Suitable for Advanced Open Water with 25+ dives.
